Streaming server not found in Stremio?

Some source types require Stremio's local desktop streaming server and cannot work in the web player alone. Confirm the app context before changing network security.

The fixes that usually work

  1. Use the official desktop or native app rather than the web player. Some source types need the local streaming service that only the app provides.
  2. Fully quit and reopen Stremio. The local service sometimes fails to start with the app.
  3. Reinstall the current official stable build if it keeps failing after a restart.
  4. Check whether a firewall rule is blocking Stremio specifically before changing wider network settings.
