Know what to look for.
And what not to share.

FixMyStremio asks for the smallest useful piece of evidence. Use this guide to find it safely—without exposing credentials, private links, or personal information.

Diagnostic inputs

Where to find each answer

You usually need only a symptom and the exact visible error. Everything else is optional and requested only when it can narrow the diagnosis.

01
WHAT WE ASK FOR

The complete wording and any visible HTTP number, such as 401, 403, 404, or 429.

WHERE TO FIND IT
  1. Reproduce the problem once and leave the error visible. Avoid repeatedly retrying a provider or account error.
  2. On desktop or Stremio Web, select and copy the message when possible. Otherwise use your computer's normal screenshot tool.
  3. On a phone or TV, take a clear photo or screenshot and type the wording exactly, including any HTTP number.
  4. Note the button you pressed and what you expected to happen immediately before the error appeared.
SAFE TO SHARE

Crop or redact email addresses, account names, IP addresses, QR codes, and private URLs before using a screenshot anywhere.

02
WHAT WE ASK FOR

The displayed name, whether Stremio labels it Official or Community, and whether Configure, Install, or Uninstall is shown.

WHERE TO FIND IT
  1. On desktop or Stremio Web, open the puzzle-piece Add-ons icon near the top-right of the screen.
  2. On Android, open the top-left menu, choose Add-ons, then look under the installed or My Add-ons view.
  3. On a television, open the side navigation and choose Add-ons. If the TV view hides details, check the same Stremio account on a phone or computer.
  4. Copy only the displayed add-on name and note whether it says Official or Community and shows Configure, Install, or Uninstall.
SAFE TO SHARE

Start with the name. Most people should not hunt for a manifest or configuration URL because it may contain credentials.

03
WHAT WE ASK FOR

Only a public HTTPS homepage or unparameterized manifest address when you already have one.

WHERE TO FIND IT
  1. Start with the add-on name. Visit its official public website or documentation rather than searching your browser history for an old install link.
  2. If Stremio shows Configure, open the configuration page in a new tab—but do not copy the final address until you have checked it for private information.
  3. A safely testable address is a normal public HTTPS homepage or a plain address ending in /manifest.json with no query string, fragment, username, token, or long random path.
  4. Configured Install links can contain an account-specific key even when it is not labelled as one. If the address looks generated or you are unsure, close it and provide only the add-on name.
SAFE TO SHARE

Never paste a full configured repository URL. Remove usernames, tokens, long path segments, query parameters, and fragments. When unsure, provide only the add-on name.

04
WHAT WE ASK FOR

Stremio version, platform, device or TV-box model, and operating-system version.

WHERE TO FIND IT
  1. In Stremio, open Settings and look for the version near About or at the bottom of the settings screen.
  2. On Android or Android TV, open the device's Settings → Apps → Stremio screen when the app does not show its own version.
  3. Find the device model and operating-system version in the device's Settings → About screen. On Windows, use Settings → System → About.
  4. Compare with Stremio's official download page. Do not install an update offered by a playback pop-up or unofficial mirror.
SAFE TO SHARE

Device model and software versions are useful. Serial numbers, account IDs, local IP addresses, and advertising IDs are not.

05

Real-Debrid account status

Official Real-Debrid account page
WHAT WE ASK FOR

Only whether Premium is active, inactive, or locked—and optionally the expiry date.

WHERE TO FIND IT
  1. Open real-debrid.com/account directly in a new tab and sign in there—not through a link shown in an error message.
  2. Look for Account Information and the Premium status or Valid until date.
  3. Report only active, inactive, or locked and, if useful, the expiry date. Do not share a screenshot of the account page.
  4. If Premium is active but one add-on says the key is invalid, check that add-on's own saved authorisation next; the two states can be different.
SAFE TO SHARE

Never provide your password, username, email, account ID, API token, device code, client secret, points balance, or two-factor code.

06
WHAT WE ASK FOR

Usually nothing. This is optional and useful only when an approved tool already displays a failing address or HTTP status.

WHERE TO FIND IT
  1. Most people should leave this blank. A visible error message or HTTP number is safer and usually more useful.
  2. Do not search browser history, logs, provider downloads, or Stremio's internal data for a URL.
  3. If an approved developer tool already shows a failing request, record only the public hostname and HTTP status when possible—not the full address.
  4. Never paste a generated or unrestricted provider link. Those links can be account-specific and short-lived.
SAFE TO SHARE

Generated and unrestricted links are user-specific and must not be shared. FixMyStremio removes full URLs from reports.

07

AIOStreams configuration state

AIOStreams setup documentation
WHAT WE ASK FOR

Whether the Real-Debrid credential was updated inside AIOStreams, whether Save completed, and whether the current configuration appears on every Stremio device.

WHERE TO FIND IT
  1. In Stremio, open Add-ons, locate AIOStreams, and choose Configure. Make sure it is the add-on you currently use, not an older duplicate.
  2. Open the Services or Real-Debrid section and read only whether the service is connected, rejected, or not configured. Do not copy the credential.
  3. If it is stale or rejected, follow AIOStreams' official re-authorisation flow, then complete Save & Install and Save as shown by the configuration page.
  4. Fully close and reopen Stremio on each affected device, confirm the current AIOStreams configuration is present, and retest one lawful source that normally works.
SAFE TO SHARE

Report only active, rejected, or not configured. Never paste the API key, AIOStreams UUID/password, exported configuration, or configured manifest URL.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers

We explain browser and service limitations openly. A diagnostic is useful only when it distinguishes evidence from assumptions.

Do I need an account?+

No. The free diagnostic, error analysis, add-on check, report, retest, and local history work without registration.

What can the website actually see?+

Only what you enter and public endpoints your browser is permitted to request. It cannot see private Stremio state, local logs, processes, or network settings.

Why does a stage say Not reached?+

A proven upstream failure stopped the playback path. For example, if an add-on returns no source, the player cannot be blamed or tested.

Why not paste my Real-Debrid token?+

A private token can grant broad account access and the official API does not make it appropriate for a public browser workflow. FixMyStremio classifies visible errors instead.

Can I add a screenshot?+

Yes. PNG, JPEG, and WebP screenshots up to 6 MB are re-encoded locally to remove metadata. Text recognition runs in your browser, and you review the extracted text before using it. The image is not uploaded, stored, added to reports, or sent to AI.

Does FixMyStremio support piracy?+

No. Diagnostics are content-neutral, and any reference test content must be public-domain, Creative Commons, open source, or otherwise freely distributable.

How does feedback improve recommendations?+

Yes/no outcomes and the selected recommendation are counted without raw errors or URLs. A fix needs enough balanced evidence before its quality signal is published for review, and it never overrides deterministic results.

What stays free?+

The deterministic diagnosis, error analysis, focused fix steps, redacted support report, retest, FAQ, and local history stay free. Payment is for optional guided convenience, not for hiding the basic answer.

Will the free diagnostic contain ads?+

No ad network is loaded at launch. If sponsorship is introduced later, it will be clearly labelled, separated from diagnostic inputs and fix steps, and paid plans will remain ad-free.

Is project support a tax-deductible donation?+

No. FixMyStremio is not presented as a charity. Any voluntary contribution will be described as a tip or project support and grants no paid feature.

Will AI make the diagnosis?+

No. In Plus, AI explains sanitized structured evidence, asks focused questions, and guides approved actions. The deterministic engine remains the source of truth.

What is the difference between the website diagnostic and the Stremio probe?+

The website diagnostic is the normal starting point: answer questions, paste a visible error, or add a screenshot for local text recognition. The optional Stremio probe is a separate 30-minute test that checks whether Stremio can reach four controlled add-on stages and play a licensed baseline video.

Do I need to download a diagnostic program?+

No separate diagnostic app, installer, or executable is needed. The website diagnostic runs in your browser. The optional probe creates a session-specific manifest link that opens in Stremio, which then fetches the temporary add-on manifest and licensed test media. The link stops working after 30 minutes.

What can the Stremio probe inspect?+

Only which of its own four endpoint types are requested during the temporary manifest, test catalog, metadata, and licensed baseline-stream flow. It cannot inspect other add-ons, settings, accounts, provider keys, logs, viewing history, device files, or other apps.

Why can Real-Debrid be active while AIOStreams says the key is invalid?+

Each provider-enabled add-on keeps its own authorisation. Rotating a Real-Debrid key does not automatically update AIOStreams. Configure AIOStreams, update or re-authorise Real-Debrid there, save the configuration, and reinstall only if prompted or the old configuration remains.

Why does playback work on my TV or phone but not my computer?+

First distinguish Stremio Web from the official desktop app. Run the baseline probe on the computer. If it fails, focus on the app, local player, or computer network. If it passes, compare add-on sync and a broadly compatible H.264/AAC/SDR source.

Can FixMyStremio build an optimal setup?+

Yes. The Setup Coach creates a device-aware order for app choice, add-on configuration, provider authorisation, source delivery, and format compatibility. It never asks for provider keys.

What is the Local Helper?+

A future optional Tauri app for permission-based process, DNS, TLS, local-port, approved-log, and configuration checks that a browser cannot perform.

Report a problem

Tell us what went wrong.

If reporting is available, a redacted description enters the owner's review queue. There is no account or contact field, so the report cannot receive a personal reply.

Checking secure report availability…

The diagnostic remains available while the private owner queue and automated abuse protection are checked.

Official sources only

Need human or account support?

Community add-ons are not operated by Stremio. For account access or billing, always use the provider's official support page.
