Optional Stremio probe

Test the path.
Not your private media.

Install a temporary diagnostic add-on, play one licensed baseline video, and see how far Stremio gets. There is no separate diagnostic app, installer, or executable to download, and no provider account or token is needed.

How this tool works

No separate app. One temporary test.

This is separate from the website questionnaire. Use the website diagnostic first; use this probe when you need to test whether Stremio itself can reach an add-on and play a known-safe video.

  1. Create a session-specific install link

A privacy-preserving automated abuse check runs first. The button then creates a random manifest address containing no provider key; it stops working after 30 minutes.

  2. Open the link in Stremio

Stremio installs add-ons from manifest links, so you do not need a separate installer or executable. If the install button does not open Stremio, copy the address into Stremio's add-on search.

  3. Play the licensed test video

The probe records which of its four endpoint types are requested as you move through the test, then asks whether the flower video played. It does not scan your device or inspect other add-ons.

Want the normal diagnostic? Describe the symptom, paste an error, or add a screenshot in the website diagnostic. Screenshot analysis happens locally in your browser.

Important limits

A probe, not a monitor.

This add-on cannot inspect other add-ons, Stremio logs, provider credentials, device settings or other applications. It only observes requests made directly to its own four endpoints.

The baseline is Mozilla's short CC0 MP4. No torrent, magnet, provider link or personal media is used. Session rows expire after 30 minutes and can be deleted immediately.

For deeper local checks, a separately installed helper would need clear, per-check permission.
